frequently asked questions

What’s new in the next generation of Series MX?

The latest Series MX speakers have been upgraded to deliver clearer sound, deeper bass and an even more immersive cinema experience at home.

The MX-20 Mk2 has been improved across all speaker modules, with a new, larger bass driver and upgraded high-frequency design for better clarity, impact and overall performance.

The MX-30i and MX-40i keep their original left, centre and right speakers, but now include powerful new subwoofer modules designed to produce extremely deep, tactile bass you can feel as much as hear.

What has changed with the MX-30i and MX-40i?

Both systems retain their original left, centre and right speaker modules. The upgrade focuses on new high-performance 18-inch subwoofer modules engineered for true infrasonic reproduction and improved low-frequency impact.

Can existing MX-30 and MX-40 owners upgrade?

Yes. The new subwoofer modules match the height, width and slim-line depth of the original systems, allowing owners to upgrade to the latest subwoofers without modifying their front wall or cabinetry.

What improvements were made to the MX-20 Mk2?

The MX-20 Mk2 features a new 12-inch low-frequency driver, a patented constant-directivity horn with a one-inch compression driver, higher LCR power handling (now 700W RMS) and a reversible subwoofer module for flexible installation.

what is infrasonic performance?

Infrasonic performance refers to extremely low frequencies, often below the audible range, that you feel rather than hear.

The new MX-30i and MX-40i subwoofer modules deliver this tactile energy for an even more immersive cinematic experience.

Can the subwoofer modules be placed in different orientations?

Yes. All new subwoofer modules feature a dual-terminal, reversible design, allowing them to be installed facing up or down to suit the room layout and acoustic needs.

As well as integrating into our modular systems, the subwoofer modules can be added independently, including the rear wall, to enhance coverage and consistency.

Do series MX systems require an acoustically transparent screen?

Yes. All Series MX models are designed to be installed behind an acoustically transparent screen, allowing sound to be projected directly through the picture, just like in a commercial cinema.

Are series MX systems made in Australia?

Absolutely. All Series MX modules are engineered, designed and handcrafted in South Australia, backed by more than 50 years of loudspeaker innovation.
