StereoNET 2026: More than 600 cinema experiences

What a weekend.

From the moment the doors opened at the 2026 StereoNET Melbourne Hi-Fi & AV Expo, the Krix Park Room was buzzing.

Every half hour across the three-day show, our 15-seat Krix and Trinnov cinema filled to capacity. By Sunday afternoon, more than 600 people had experienced the cinema demonstration, with many more visiting the adjoining Krix displays to explore our latest loudspeakers, subwoofers, amplification and home cinema solutions.

For us, shows like StereoNET are about far more than putting products on display. They're an opportunity to let people experience what a carefully designed cinema system can really do.

And this year, we went big.

Real Cinema at Home

At the centre of the Park Room was a 9.6.4 Krix cinema system, created to demonstrate the scale, clarity and control possible in a dedicated home cinema.

The system featured OWX-50 and OWX-55 loudspeakers across the front stage, supported by ten Hyperphonix 45 loudspeakers throughout the room and six new UCX-118 infrasonic subwoofers.

Those six subwoofers were positioned across the front and rear of the cinema and integrated using Trinnov WaveForming technology, allowing the system to deliver incredibly powerful low frequencies with remarkable consistency and control throughout the room.

Processing was handled by a Trinnov AltitudeCI, while Krix amplification, including the new KA-2700X4, provided more than 20,000 watts of amplification across the system.

For picture, a huge 163-inch Taylorleds 4K LED display, paired with madVR Envy Extreme video processing, created an equally dramatic visual experience.

But the real test was what happened when the lights went down.

Powerful when it needs to be. Precise all the time.

Throughout the weekend, visitors experienced a selection of movie and music sequences chosen to demonstrate different aspects of the system, from dialogue intelligibility and subtle detail through to dynamic action sequences and deep, physical bass.

One of the biggest talking points was the bass performance.

StereoNET's show report highlighted the extraordinary control achieved by the six UCX-118 subwoofers and Trinnov WaveForming, describing the system's standout quality as its “accuracy of bass that simply has to be experienced.”

That distinction is important.

Great cinema bass isn't simply about making the room shake. It needs to have impact without becoming slow, boomy or overwhelming. It should support what's happening on screen, remain balanced across the listening area and disappear into the overall experience.

StereoNET noted that the system could produce enormous, chest-thumping levels while remaining so accurate and balanced that the sheer volume wasn't immediately apparent.

For us, that's exactly what great cinema sound should do.

Dialogue, music and everything in between

Bass may have grabbed plenty of attention, but it was only one part of the experience.

StereoNET also praised the clarity of dialogue, an area that can often be overlooked in home cinema systems.

Whether it was the tension of a movie scene, the impact of an action sequence or the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack from TRON: Ares, the system was designed to maintain clarity, dynamics and tonal consistency across every channel.

As StereoNET put it, Krix is a sound company first - and whether it's music, movies or dialogue, the system delivered.

A first look at what's coming next

Outside the cinema, visitors could explore an extensive collection of Krix products, including several exciting new additions.

The show provided an Australian preview of the Ultra X range, including Behind Screen, On Wall and LED Screen configurations, as well as the UX-500V prototype.

We also showcased the new Krix multi-channel amplification range, including the KA-1000X4 and KA-2700X4, developed to work with our latest high-performance subwoofer systems and featuring Krix-optimised DSP.

Visitors could also explore our LX-7, a selection of our home entertainment loudspeakers, architectural solutions and finishes, alongside acoustic treatment solutions from Artnovion and its new ChromaX stretch fabric system.

Thank you, Melbourne

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us in the Park Room.

Seeing every demonstration filled from opening through to the end of the show was fantastic, but the conversations afterwards were even better.

Whether you were experiencing a serious home cinema system for the first time, planning your own cinema, comparing technologies or simply wanted to feel what six UCX-118 subwoofers could do, thank you for being part of it.

We'd also like to thank Trinnov Audio, Taylorleds, madVR, Artnovion and Kordz Australia for helping us bring the room together.
