Expanding our Infrasonic capabilities – An era of low-frequency performance

We’re strengthening our position in high-performance bass reproduction that gives you even more flexibility when designing world-class home cinemas for your clients.

Krix now offers a suite of subwoofers capable of reaching true infrasonic levels, delivering bass that isn’t only heard, but physically felt. This includes our UCX-218, the newly released MXi-118 for MX-30i and MX-40i systems, and the upcoming UCX-118, which will be available mid-2026.

Importantly, while these models extend into the infrasonic range, every Krix subwoofer remains a full-range cinema subwoofer, designed to reproduce the entire low-frequency spectrum with accuracy, control and impact.

Why infrasonics matter

When we talk about “infra,” we’re referring to frequencies below 20Hz, the part of the spectrum where sound transitions from something you hear to something you feel.

In practical terms, infrasonic capability allows you to deliver:

  • Physical immersion: Low-end pressure waves that move through the listener’s body, heightening realism and emotional engagement.
  • Greater cinematic impact: More weight, scale and intensity to action sequences, atmospheric effects and film sound design.
  • Better seat-to-seat consistency: High-output infrasonic subs help smooth room modes, improving bass uniformity throughout the space.

Infra isn’t simply “more bass.” It’s an essential component of true cinema reproduction, and increasingly a performance benchmark for dedicated home cinema rooms.

Our Infrasonic Subwoofer Lineup

UCX-218 – Dual 18-inch

With dual 18" drivers and enormous headroom, the UCX-218 brings commercial-cinema performance into residential spaces. It’s the ideal choice when maximum output and the deepest infrasonic extension are required.

MXi-118 – Infrasonics for MX-30i and MX-40i

Our latest module, the MXi-118, integrates directly into the MX-30i and MX-40i modular systems and can also be installed independently throughout the room, including the rear wall. It delivers deeper, more powerful bass while maintaining the visual and acoustic consistency of the series.

UCX-118 – Arriving mid-2026

Rounding out the range, the UCX-118 will offer a compact, high-performance solution for projects that need deep infrasonic capability in a smaller footprint. It’s perfect for UCX-based systems or rooms that demand flexibility.

Full-range reproduction

As we continue to push deeper into the infrasonic spectrum, every Krix subwoofer is engineered as a full-range low-frequency system. That means:

  • Tight, articulate mid-bass
  • Accurate reproduction of LFE and musical bass
  • Excellent transient response
  • Clean integration with Krix LCRs and surrounds
What this means for you

With the UCX-218, MXi-118, and the upcoming UCX-118, you now have more tools than ever to deliver reference-level bass across a broader range of room sizes and budgets. Whether you're designing a compact dedicated room or a flagship private cinema, there’s now a Krix infrasonic solution to match.
