Expanding our Infrasonic capabilities – An era of low-frequency performance

Strengthening our low-frequency design toolkit

We’re strengthening our position in high-performance bass reproduction, giving you even more flexibility when designing world-class home cinemas for your clients. We now offer a suite of subwoofers capable of reaching true infrasonic levels, bass that isn’t only heard, but physically felt. This includes our UCX-218, the newly released MXi-118 for MX-30i and MX-40i systems, and the upcoming UCX-118, which will be available mid-2026.

Importantly, while these models extend into the infrasonic range, every Krix subwoofer remains a full-range cinema subwoofer, designed to reproduce the entire low-frequency spectrum with accuracy, control and impact.

Why infrasonics?

When we talk about “infra,” we’re referring to frequencies below 20Hz, the range where sound transitions from something you hear to something you feel.

For your cliets, infrasonic capability means:

  • Physical immersion: Low-end pressure waves that move through the listener’s body, heightening realism and emotional engagement.
  • Greater cinematic impact: More weight, scale and intensity to action sequences and atmospheric effects.

This is a level of bass performance that elevates a cinema from impressive to unforgettable.

Full-range reproduction - The Krix way

As we extend deeper into infrasonic's, every Krix subwoofer continues to be engineered as a full-range low-frequency system. This ensures:

  • Tight, articulate mid-bass
  • Accurate reproduction of both LFE and musical bass
  • Excellent transient response
  • Clean, coherent integration with Krix LCRs and surrounds

This full-range approach means cinemas retain precision and musicality, even while delivering extreme low-end energy.

Our infrasonic subwoofer lineup

Our infrasonic range covers more room sizes, budgets and system layouts than ever before:

UCX-218 – Dual 18-inch

With dual 18" drivers and enormous headroom, the UCX-218 brings commercial-cinema performance into residential spaces. It’s the ideal choice when maximum output and the deepest infrasonic extension are required.

MXi-118 – Infrasonics for MX-30i and MX-40i

Our latest module, the MXi-118, integrates directly into the MX-30i and MX-40i modular systems and can also be installed independently throughout the room, including the rear wall. It delivers deeper, more powerful bass while maintaining the visual and acoustic consistency of the series.

UCX-118 – Arriving mid-2026

Adding to the range, the UCX-118 will offer a compact, high-performance solution for projects that need deep infrasonic capability in a smaller footprint. It will be perfect for systems or rooms that demand flexibility.

What this means for you

With the UCX-218, MXi-118, and the upcoming UCX-118, you now have the tools to deliver reference-level bass across a broader range of room sizes and budgets. Whether you're designing a compact dedicated room or a flagship private cinema, there’s now a Krix infrasonic solution to match.
