The concept behind Quake sound
Wallis Cinemas approached us with a clear brief: enhance the traditional cinema experience to make it more dynamic and emotionally engaging!
Quake Sound was designed to deliver greater impact through two core principles:
- Increased bass energy, through a significant expansion of low-frequency output.
- Clearer, more immersive surround sound, through enhanced speaker coverage and precision tuning.
The result is a system where moviegoers don't just watch a film - they feel it.
System design and technology
The Quake sound system at Wallis Mitcham features:
- 21 Krix loudspeakers, precisely placed for maximum coverage and impact.
- 10 Krix high-powered subwoofers, providing deep, tactile bass you can physically feel.
- Trinnov Ovation2 digital processing, delivering world-class room optimisation, spatial accuracy, and system management.
Thanks to Trinnov’s precise calibration tools, including time alignment, phase optimisation, and bass management, the system delivers tight, consistent bass and an enveloping, highly detailed soundstage - across every seat in the cinema.
